The LEAD Network is facilitating regional consultations across Sub-Saharan Africa to determine what African civil society feels are the priorities for climate change adaptation and risk management, and how these priorities can be communicated effectively to African governments to ensure that they are able to respond effectively. The consultations are being funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) as part of a wider strategy of engagement with Africa on climate change issues.
Creating a more humane and sustainable world is one of the greatest challenges facing the world. The challenges of leadership in bringing about change on a global scale, as seen from the diverse perspectives of a number of leaders in this field, has been captured in a series of essays.
The end of March saw the coming together of a dynamic new cohort of LEAD Associates participating in the LEAD Europe 2007 Fellows Training Programme.
In 2007 and 2008 LEAD is focusing its international training programme around the response to climate change. This programme will work with emerging leaders from countries which are key to meeting the challenges of climate change in a changing world.
